An entrance to Sistema K'oox Baal where CREER said in April 2024 that guided cavern tours must not be run, because the route has no direct access to open water.

Cenote Xuxi is an entrance to Sistema K'oox Baal. In its April 2024 update CREER stated that tours at Xuxi do not allow direct access to open water, are not safe for single-tank divers and must not be conducted under any circumstances, and that the so-called cavern line there would be removed.

The site therefore illustrates a key distinction in Quintana Roo diving: a true cavern zone keeps divers within sight of daylight and close to a surface they can reach directly, which a route without open-water access does not. Under the Jungle uses Xuxi as a photography location in its exploration material. No depth or length for the cenote itself was found.

Overhead route without direct access to open water, per CREER.
