The resurgence of the Kingsdale system and the downstream end of the 1991 King Pot through-trip. A Cave Diving Group site on private land where access is by permission from the farm at Braida Garth and has been difficult in recent years.

Keld Head is where the waters of Kingsdale return to the surface. From its pool, long flooded passages lead upstream into the Kingsdale system, and it has been a focal point of British sump diving since the 1970s, including the 1979 link to Kingsdale Master Cave and the 1991 through-trip from King Pot.

Access is sensitive. The Council of Northern Caving Clubs (CNCC) states that the site is not on access land, that a courtesy call at Braida Garth farm is required, and that permission may be refused on any given day. Visitors are asked to seek advice from local Cave Diving Group (CDG) members first, to carry CDG membership cards, and are told the farmer prefers visitors to be accompanied by a local CDG member he knows.

The environment

Resurgence sump leading into long flooded passages. No temperature or visibility figures are published in the sources opened.
