Långban – Kollegiegruvan dive platform
Level 1 (about 20-30 m) for independent member dives; deeper levels unlocked progressively: operator zone [1] (After a guided first dive, members dive the first level independently and gain access to deeper levels as they log dives in line with their training.). The members-only diving entry to the flooded Långban mine: a platform built in Kollegiegruvan with kitting benches, lighting and nearby shallow decompression habitats.
Långban's divers enter through Kollegiegruvan, where the club has built and later doubled in size a dive platform with kitting-up benches, shelves, stairs, lighting and a whiteboard used for dive planning. Earlier dives started in Storgruvan.
Underwater, small habitats (air-filled shelters) at about 6 m hold two to four divers each during decompression stops, with more at 15 m. Dive events are mostly held at weekends and organised by the club's keyholders.
L'environnement
Cold (6 °C), very clear water in flooded shafts and levels of a historic mine; levels at about 21, 40, 55, 75 and 90 m.
Installations
Dive platform with benches, shelves, stairs and lighting; underwater habitats at about 6 m and 15 m; nearby accommodation at Ericsson Gård.
