Diving in Jordan
Jordan's 27 kilometers of Red Sea coastline concentrate an outsized amount of diving into the Gulf of Aqaba's calm, deep-blue corner. The fringing reefs slope steeply from shore in warm, tideless water, and nearly every site is a beach entry or a five-minute boat hop, which makes Aqaba one of the easiest places anywhere to log relaxed reef dives. Aqaba is the registry destination and the entire coast: the marine park south of town strings together shore-entry reefs like the Japanese Garden, the Cedar Pride wreck, the sunken TriStar airliner and military-vehicle sites, and steep coral slopes toward the Saudi border.
