Bonaire
Bonaire runs on shore diving. Yellow-painted stones along the leeward road mark more than sixty entry points, the fringing reef has been legally protected since 1979, and rental trucks come with tank racks instead of roof boxes. The Hilma Hooker adds a genuine 72-meter wreck lying between the southern double reefs. Because the island sits outside the main hurricane belt, the season never really closes, and repeat visitors log fifty dives a year here without repeating an entry point.
