Three distinct coasts share one small island. The West Wall, minutes from Seven Mile Beach, is the everyday marvel — canyons, chimneys, and orange elephant-ear sponges from about 15 m over the drop. The North Wall is wilder, a sheer face on the edge of a 2,000 m trench where eagle rays and reef sharks patrol sites like Babylon. In between lies North Sound's famous anomaly: Stingray City, where southern stingrays conditioned by decades of fishermen's scraps glide onto divers' hands in a few meters of water. The Kittiwake, a former US Navy submarine-rescue vessel scuttled in 2011, lies within snorkel sight of the surface and opens generously for guided passes. Shore divers get their own classic at Eden Rock and Devil's Grotto, where tarpon hang in cathedral swim-throughs off George Town. Mooring discipline, marine-park zones, and no-glove, no-touch culture keep the reef in shape despite the traffic.

December through May is the dry, settled season. Summer stays diveable with warm, calm mornings; September and October carry the highest hurricane risk. Winter northwest swells occasionally shift boats from the West Wall to the sheltered south.

Set a hard depth limit before every wall dive and hold it; the visibility makes 40 m look like 15. At Stingray City keep feet off the sand, shuffle rather than step, and never lift or chase the animals.
