Cavern and cave certified teams only

Cavern and cave certified teams only: Florida State Parks diving rules [1] [2] (Open water divers may dive only in Orange Grove Sink.). Estas categorías pertenecen al esquema indicado; describen la formación que requiere cada sitio.

The main spring entrance to the Peacock Springs cave system, near the last parking area of Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park; open to certified cavern and cave divers only.

Peacock I is the spring pool at the end of the park road in Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park, and one of the two places where the park allows divers to enter the cave system. The park's interpretive trail starts here and follows the line of the passages underground, so walkers often see cave divers getting in or out.

Under park rules only certified cavern and cave dive teams may dive here; open water divers are directed to Orange Grove Sink instead. The park provides high tables and benches for heavy gear, plus wash-down stations and showers, paid for with help from the North Florida Springs Alliance.

El entorno

A spring pool opening into limestone cave passages that form part of a long mapped system. Swimming and snorkelling are also allowed at Peacock Springs and depend on seasonal water levels.

Condiciones

Water levels in the park's springs vary with the seasons, and the park makes swimming and snorkelling dependent on seasonal water levels. No published visibility or temperature range was found for this spring.

Rangos típicos de fuentes publicadas, no condiciones actuales.

Instalaciones

Two parking areas; a portable restroom and changing room at each parking area; no potable water; high gear tables and benches, wash-down stations and showers for divers; interpretive trail.
