Basic Cave: CDAA site rating [1] [2] (The northern pool; the CDAA site page still uses the older label 'Sinkhole' for this zone.). Cave: CDAA site rating [1] [2] (Most of the site.). Advanced Cave: CDAA site rating [1] [2] (Deep section below 40 m (Snot Room), the Y-shaped tunnel west of it, and the north-south shortcut from the entrance tunnel to the Railway Tunnel.). These categories are the named scheme's own; they describe the training a site calls for.

A large Nullarbor cave near Eucla where a talus-floored passage descends from a doline to two lakes and a sump. The CDAA rates parts of it at three levels; diving needs written permission from the WA lands department.

From a doline (a collapse depression in the plain), a large passage floored with fallen rock (talus) runs south-west to two lakes. The smaller lake reaches 28 m. At the end of the large lake, which is about 150 m long, a 100 m sump leads to a domed air space and further flooded passages, and a side branch of the main sump continues for more than 150 m to the south-east.

The CDAA site page divides the cave into zones. The pool on the northern side carries the entry-level rating (named 'Sinkhole' on that page), most of the cave is rated Cave, and the deep section below 40 m (the Snot Room), the Y-shaped tunnel west of it, the Railway Tunnel and a shortcut from the entrance tunnel are Advanced Cave. Access requires an emailed application to the WA Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage at least four weeks ahead and an official letter of permission from the land owner.

The environment

Large dry passage and lakes, then flooded tunnels with deep sections below 40 m; the Railway Tunnel holds bacterial colonies.

Verified [1]
The smaller lake reaches 28 m depth. The deep Advanced Cave section lies below 40 m; no maximum depth is published on the page. Verified [1]
A 100 m sump at the end of the 150 m large lake leads to a dome-shaped airspace, and a south-east offshoot of the main sump is over 150 m long. Verified [1]
Divers apply by email at least four weeks before the trip to the WA Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, with indemnity forms, attendee list, dates, proposed caves, emergency contact and CDAA cards, and must receive an official letter from the land owner. Verified [1]
A site indemnity form must be completed for each visit. Verified [1]
