P29

The P29 began life in East Germany as the Kondor-class minesweeper Boltenhagen, patrolled Maltese waters for the Armed Forces of Malta, and was cleaned and scuttled off Cirkewwa in 2007. She sits upright and compact — around fifty meters of ship — which makes her a satisfying single-tank tour: bow gun mount, open bridge, mast climbing toward the light where divers ascend at the end. Cardinalfish cloud the interior openings, groupers and moray eels have taken the lower structures, and her position on bright sand keeps the wreck readable in Malta's generous visibility.
