This stretch of dark sand at Lauadi is where the phrase muck diving entered the sport's vocabulary, and it still teaches the lesson daily: the plainest bottom hides the strangest animals. Divers crawl the slope at a gardener's pace, and the sand gives up frogfish in every size, ghost pipefish drifting like dead leaves, mantis shrimp glaring from burrows, and cephalopods from reef octopus to the occasional mimic. Night dives multiply everything. The adjacent reef edge adds color when the hunt slows. Guides here spot at a level that borders on sorcery — stay close to them and shoot patiently.
您此行的高光时刻: Muck diving at its birthplace; frogfish and ghost pipefish in numbers; night dives that rewrite your logbook's species column.
地形地貌: Dark volcanic sand slope with scattered logs, coral patches, and debris that shelter the critters
入水方式: Usually dived from liveaboards or day boats moored just off the black-sand beach; entries are calm and shallow.
入水前须知
危险因素: Venomous ambush hunters underfoot — stonefish and scorpionfish included; never brace a hand without looking first.
保育: The sand community is fragile and the reef belongs to the neighboring village — settle only on bare substrate and support operators who pay reef custom.
