Thunderdome

Thunderdome is the odd one out in Turks and Caicos diving: the ruins of a steel geodesic dome sunk off Providenciales in the 1990s as the set of a French television game show, in which contestants dove for tokens inside it. Storms have since folded the framework into a tangle of hoops and struts, and the fish have taken over completely, with sergeant majors, snappers, and swirling silversides treating the lattice as a citadel. Shallow, calm, and strange, it works equally well as a second dive, a snorkel stop, or a long, easy photography session in good light.
