Anse Chastanet Reef
Saint Lucia's most convenient dive is also one of its richest. A protected shelf begins two meters below the swim line at Anse Chastanet's dark-sand beach, crowded with fry, wrasse, and octopus dens, then tips over a slope that keeps going past forty meters for those with the certification to follow. The site's reputation rests on its small residents: longsnout seahorses on the sponge patches, frogfish adopting whatever texture suits them, and juvenile spotted drums flickering under ledges. As a night dive it may be the island's best hour underwater, ten minutes from a dinner table.
El momento por el que vienes: Seahorses and frogfish on demand, shore access inside the reserve, superb night diving
Topografía: Shallow protected shelf breaking onto a steep slope
Entrada: Walk-in entry from the beach in front of the resort; the reserve's no-fishing shallows start within meters.
Lo que debes saber antes de tirarte al agua
Riesgos: Swimmer traffic near the beach; steep slope invites depth creep beyond the plan.
Permisos y normas: SMMA rules and fees apply; the shallows are a no-fishing priority zone.
