SS Carnatic
스토리
Carnatic was a fast, elegant product of the 1860s, an iron-framed P&O ship rigged for sail but driven by steam, carrying passengers, mail, cotton, copper, and gold specie between Suez and Bombay. On the night of 12 September 1869 she ran onto Sha'ab Abu Nuhas in clear weather. For a day and a half she sat upright and apparently secure, and her captain kept everyone aboard awaiting the next P&O steamer. On 14 September the hull suddenly broke; 31 people died as she went down, and the survivors rowed to Shadwan Island before rescue. Salvage divers recovered nearly all of her gold within weeks, though rumor has never quite let that fact settle. Her wooden decking rotted away long ago, leaving a lattice of iron ribs on the seabed — one of the oldest wrecks anywhere that ordinary sport divers can visit.

오늘 다이빙 중
컨디션: A 150-year-old framework, heavily encrusted and fragile; the bow and stern hold their shape while the midships has slumped.
침투 다이빙: Limited. With planking gone, light falls through the exposed frames; divers glide through the open skeleton rather than true enclosed space.
Advanced Open Water
조류: Mild · 시야: 10–25 m
해양 생물: Soft corals drape the ribs, glassfish mass inside the stern, and morays, octopus, and anthias occupy what was once the promenade.
위험 요소: Sharp, brittle ironwork; surge near the reef crest; mild current along the wreck line.
