Milne Bay is where the term muck diving was coined, and its dark-sand slopes still produce rhinopias, ghost pipefish, and octopus theater alongside coral reefs and WWII debris. Between them lie barrier reefs, fjord-like bays, and wrecks from the Pacific war.
