Angel City is the clearest expression of Bonaire's southern double-reef architecture: a first ridge dropping off the shelf, a bright sand channel, then a second ridge standing offshore like a breakwater of coral. The channel works as a natural boulevard, patrolled by goatfish, rays, and the queen angelfish that gave the site its name, while garden eels stipple the sand between the ridges. Divers cross to the outer ridge, ride it in either direction, and recross at leisure, an easy navigation exercise with the Hilma Hooker close enough to visit on the same tank for the well-practiced.
