MUSA — Punta Nizuc
Punta Nizuc holds MUSA's shallow gallery, placed where glass-bottom boats and snorkelers can hover over the art without tanks. Pieces sit just beneath the surface — hands raised from the sand, a ring of figures, small domes built as fish shelters — softened now by algae, sponge, and juvenile reef fish. Serious divers should point their tanks at Manchones instead, but as a first face-to-face with the museum idea, or a no-gear afternoon for traveling companions, this corner earns its place; on calm winter days the light on the statues is lovely.
Topografía: Shallow sand and hardpan at the tip of the hotel zone, seeded with sculpture clusters a few meters down.
Entrada: Reached by tour boat from Cancun's hotel zone; ropes and guides marshal the snorkel loops.
Riesgos: Dense snorkeler and boat traffic; wave surge over very shallow structure.
Permisos y normas: Marine-park bracelet required; access via licensed tour operators.
Conservación: Within the marine park's most trafficked zone; operators run fixed loops to limit contact with the bottom.
