Anacapa's north shore holds the most amiable kelp diving in the national park, and Cathedral Cove is its centerpiece: a boulder reef under guano-white cliffs where the giant kelp grows in tall, well-spaced columns that sunlight actually reaches. The effect on a clear fall day is the postcard - amber canopy, blue shafts, garibaldi burning orange against it all. Harbor seals make quiet passes, sea lions from the nearby rookery make loud ones, and the reserve status of much of Anacapa's front side means lobster wave antennae from open ledges and scallops grow to serving-platter size. Gentle depths and easy anchorage make it the fleet's favorite first stop on a Channel Islands schedule.
您此行的高光时刻: Sunlit kelp columns, tame reserve-zone marine life, sea lion and seal traffic
地形地貌: Kelp forest over boulder reef beneath Anacapa's cliffs
入水前须知
危险因素: Kelp canopy overhead on ascents; surge close to the cliff base.
保育: Much of Anacapa's north side sits in long-established marine protected areas - boundaries matter for hunters, so most boats simply take nothing.
