A few minutes off Freeport's shoreline, Shark Junction is where UNEXSO built its long-running Caribbean reef shark program. Divers kneel in a semicircle on the sand while a chainmail-suited feeder works from a bait box, and a dozen or more reef sharks trace tight, practiced circles around the group with nurse sharks hoovering scraps below. The arena format makes it one of the easiest big-animal dives in the Bahamas, and the surrounding reef, dotted with old habitat debris from the area's marine-research days, turns the second half into a pleasant wander.
