Theo's Wreck

Grand Bahama's signature deep dive is a 70-meter cement freighter scuttled in 1982 and named for the engineer who arranged her sinking. She lies on her port side in about thirty meters at the very lip of the island's drop-off, so divers hang over her rails with a wall falling into blue below them. The holds and framework host groupers, horse-eye jacks, and turtles, and three decades of growth have softened her lines with sponges and encrusting coral. Depth makes this a proper advanced dive with a short clock, best run on nitrox and finished along the ledge.
