Shilang
Shilang is Green Island's front door, the west-coast zone where boardwalk steps drop straight onto living coral and the Kuroshio's blue water makes ten meters feel like snorkeling depth. Anemone cities with defiant clownfish start immediately, turtles work the terraces, and the slope keeps unpacking coral heads and sand lanes down to twenty-five meters. The site's long-time celebrity, a giant centuries-old Porites head nicknamed the Big Mushroom, was reported toppled by a 2016 typhoon, and the fallen colony remains part of the tour, half monument and half lesson in what storms do to even the oldest reef citizens.
O momento pelo qual você vem: Walk-in Kuroshio clarity, anemone cities, the fallen Big Mushroom coral
Topografia: Volcanic terraces and coral gardens sloping from a walk-in shallow shelf
Corrente: Protected from the northeast monsoon; current picks up toward the zone's outer edges.
Entrada: Boardwalk and steps lead into the island's main marked diving zone on the west coast; snorkel operations share the shallows.
Sabe antes de entrar na água
Perigos: Summer crowds and surge over the entry shelf on windy days.
Conservação: Stay off the coral and inside the marked zone; the shallows take heavy snorkel traffic in summer.
