Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park
The world's first underwater sculpture park opened here in 2006, when artist Jason deCaires Taylor set a ring of cast figures on the sand at Molinere Point, and the sea has been editing the exhibition ever since. Vicissitudes, the circle of children holding hands, wears a growing skin of coralline algae and sponge; the Lost Correspondent sits at his desk while juvenile fish school through his typewriter. Additional works by local artists have joined over the years. It is shallow, occasionally surgy, and best in morning light, less a fish dive than a slow, strange gallery walk with fins.
