Bjarnagja
Bjarnagja is a slot of green-blue water in the Reykjanes lava fields, close enough to the ocean that tides breathe through it and seawater layers over filtered groundwater in a visible halocline. Divers drop between sheer basalt walls hung with the odd anemone, pass shafts of daylight from the surface crack, and turn where the ravine pinches. It never matches Silfra's clarity, but the blur where fresh and salt water mix has its own optics, and small marine life — sticklebacks, the occasional flatfish or eel — drifts in with the tide. A short, strange, free-range dive when regional volcanic conditions allow.
Topografía: A narrow lava fissure holding a mix of seawater and filtered groundwater, walls dropping to about 18 m
Entrada: A lava ravine near Grindavik on the Reykjanes Peninsula; access has been affected at times by the volcanic activity around Grindavik since 2023 — check current status before planning.
Riesgos: Remote unsupervised entry, cold water, and regional volcanic-activity closures; verify access and dive with support.
