El Dorado

El Dorado is one of the handful of named spots scattered across the Little Bahama Bank that Tiger Beach crews rotate through when they want a change of scenery or a different mix of animals. It is a modest patch reef in open sand, and its reputation rests on winter days when great hammerheads join the tigers and lemons, their tall sickle fins visible long before the rest of the shark resolves. Crews read the current and the crowd of sharks before choosing it, so it appears on itineraries as conditions allow rather than on a fixed schedule.
