Half Moon Caye Wall

Half Moon Caye Wall is the dive that redeems any Blue Hole skeptic's day. The shelf before the drop is a garden-eel plain — hundreds of slender bodies swaying and vanishing as you glide over — and the lip beyond erupts in tube sponges, sea fans, and plate corals fed by clean oceanic water. Spotted eagle rays patrol the face, turtles bulldoze through the shallows, and groupers loiter at cleaning stations. Topside, the caye's red-footed booby colony wheels overhead during the surface interval. Many Belize regulars quietly rank this above its famous neighbor.
