At the quiet northern end of the marked shore sites, Karpata pairs Bonaire's best visibility with its most sculptural reef. The terrace breaks into buttresses and sand gullies before tipping down a slope that fades into indigo, and centuries-old anchors lie fused into the coral, relics of the plantation-era anchorage that named the site. Turtles are near-guaranteed along the drop, and the upper reef's elkhorn and fire coral gardens glow in afternoon light.
