Coral pinnacles the size of buildings stand along the drop-off, and the dive threads the ravines between them — one moment enclosed by walls of plate coral and sponge, the next hanging over open blue. Eagle rays and turtles work the tops in winter; barracuda hold midwater like fixed hardware. Because the structure spans a wide depth range, guides can run the same terrain deep and bold or shallow and easy, which is why half the island's boats seem to end up here on any given morning.
