The western Daymaniyats grow coral with unusual ambition for the Gulf of Oman, and Garden of Eden is the showpiece: massive blocks and terraces draped in orange, purple, and yellow soft corals, with table corals spreading between them in tiers that justify the horticultural name. Green turtles are near-guaranteed grazers here, clownfish colonies dot the anemone patches - Oman hosts its own endemic anemonefish - and zebra sharks turn up on the sand aprons often enough to keep every diver scanning ahead. The site suits slow, shallow touring; most of the color lives above 15 meters, and the best dives simply follow the light across the terraces. On a clear winter day it is the reserve's most purely beautiful hour underwater.
Der Moment, für den du kommst: Soft-coral color on giant blocks; table-coral terraces; reliable turtles at easy depth.
Topografie: Large coral blocks and table-coral terraces scattered down a gentle slope
Einstieg: Western-sector reserve site dived from mooring buoys; often the second stop on a two-tank day from Al Sawadi.
Was du wissen solltest, bevor du ins Wasser gehst
Gefahren: Occasional current across the terraces; visibility drops when blooms pass through.
Genehmigungen & Regeln: Environment Authority entry permit required, arranged by licensed operators.
Naturschutz: The table corals that define the site break under a single careless fin - buoyancy is the entry fee.
