Cara a Cara means face to face, and that is the transaction: kneel on the sand while fifteen or more Caribbean reef sharks bank and circle close enough to count scars. The dive is provisioned — a bait box goes down with the group — which is why the sharks attend and why the site divides opinion; feeding changes behavior, and thoughtful divers should weigh that honestly before booking. Run well, it is orderly and briefed to the letter, and it remains one of the region's most dependable places to study reef sharks at length rather than in passing glimpses.
