Guides named this site for the crowd it draws, and on a running tide the label holds: whitetip reef sharks cutting between the heads, schools of surgeonfish and snapper stacked along the ridges, barracuda hanging up-current, and the occasional eagle ray gliding the sand breaks. The terrain is a series of coral ridges the flow combs like a hedgerow, soft corals open and feeding. It is a dive for keeping your head moving — the strait delivers traffic from every direction. Fish density varies with the tide phase more than the season, so trust the operator's timing over any calendar.
