Ted's Point is Utila's dependable local, the site boats reach before your wetsuit finishes soaking. The slope steps down through coral heads busy with juvenile fish, and its position near deeper water gives it a habit of small surprises — a passing turtle, a stingray excavating the sand, the odd midwater flash that empties every regulator on the boat when it turns out to be big.
