Jahir, named for the veteran local guide who worked it, sits mid-strait and behaves like a community noticeboard for critters: whatever is in season shows up here. Painted and giant frogfish squat on sponges, ornate and robust ghost pipefish drift in pairs, snake eels host commensal shrimp, and the anemones shelter porcelain crabs and clownfish in photogenic chaos. It has a particular reputation as a night dive, when Spanish dancers unfurl to full size, mantis shrimp hunt in the open, and the sand seems to reshuffle its entire cast. The gentle profile and constant novelty make it a staple on nearly every resort's weekly rotation.
Il momento che aspettavi: Frogfish and ghost pipefish; outstanding night diving; reliably fresh sightings on repeat visits.
Topografia: Black sand and fine rubble with sponges, anemones, and scattered human debris repurposed as habitat.
Sapere prima di tuffarsi
Pericoli: Standard muck cautions: venomous ambush predators, urchins, and silt discipline.
