Off the twin humps of Morro Dois Irmaos - the postcard silhouette on the island's inner coast - a submerged slab and boulder field gathers Noronha's shark life into one reliable circuit. Lemon sharks, the archipelago's signature, cruise the shallows with their escort of jacks; Caribbean reef sharks hold deeper along the slab's edge; and the rubble in between belongs to morays, octopus, and drifts of grunts and goatfish. Spinner dolphins transit the area on their daily commute between the dolphin bay and open water, and hearing their whistles mid-dive is common even when the pod stays out of view. Calm-season conditions make it a forgiving dive with front-row wildlife.
