Depth is the range from the top of the site to its usual maximum; "recommended cert" is the mainstream-agency level operators usually ask for, not a legal rule. Currents and visibility change daily — treat everything here as planning ranges.

The Lekuan sections are Bunaken's signature: kilometer-scale walls that start at snorkel depth and drop into indigo, dived as slow drifts past a running frieze of sponges, soft corals, and fans. Green turtles are the constant, wedged on ledges or rising lazily along the face, some of them old and enormous. Banded sea kraits stitch through the crevices, Napoleon wrasse make wide passes in the blue, and pyramid butterflyfish feed in shimmering columns off the wall. Down-reef, whitetips patrol the sand chutes. Depth is entirely elective, which lets new divers and photographers share the same profile happily. It is the park's essential dive, and repeat visits keep paying.

The moment you come for: Turtles at close range in quantity; vertical drop-offs from snorkel depth; sea kraits and Napoleon wrasse.

Topography: Sheer coral wall in three named sections along Bunaken's south coast, cut with crevices and chimneys.

Current: Typically a slow drift along the face; currents strengthen toward the ends of the wall on spring tides.

Know before you splash

Hazards: A bottomless wall invites depth creep; set limits and watch the group, not just the scenery.

Conservation: Mooring buoys and park patrols protect the wall; the entry-tag fee funds them.

Nitrox: Worth it here — profiles sit in the range where enriched air meaningfully extends no-stop time (with the training to use it).
