La profondeur indique la plage entre le sommet du site et son maximum habituel ; le « niveau de certification recommandé » correspond au niveau généralement demandé par les opérateurs selon les agences grand public, et non à une règle légale. Fury Shoals is less a dive site than an archipelago of them - a spread of reefs off the Hamata coast where the hard coral grows with a health the northern Red Sea can only remember. The celebrated stop is Sha'ab Claudio, whose shallow cavern system threads a reef plate in wide, bright tunnels: sunbeams drop through ceiling windows onto white sand floors, and divers surface-light photographs there that look staged. Around it, sister reefs offer porites mounds the size of cottages, napoleon wrasse and bumphead parrotfish on the outer edges, dolphins crossing between lagoons, and enough variety that liveaboards happily spend days without repeating a profile. Distance keeps the crowds thinner than the north; the far south still feels early.
Le moment pour lequel vous venez: Sha'ab Claudio's sunlit caverns; cottage-sized hard-coral heads; genuine variety across one system.
Topographie: A constellation of hard-coral reefs, cavern systems, sand lagoons, and pinnacle fields
Courant: Sheltered inside the system; outer corners pick up flow worth planning around.
Entrée: A large reef system off Hamata and Wadi Lahami in the far south; day boats and liveaboards pick sites by weather.
À savoir avant de plonger
Dangers: Cavern passages need basic overhead awareness; navigation across the system depends on guides.
Conservation: The hard-coral density is the treasure - buoyancy discipline in the caverns keeps it that way.
Nitrox: Intéressant ici — les profils se situent dans la plage où le nitrox prolonge significativement le temps sans palier (avec la formation pour l'utiliser).
