Depth is the range from the top of the site to its usual maximum; "recommended cert" is the mainstream-agency level operators usually ask for, not a legal rule. Currents and visibility change daily — treat everything here as planning ranges.

El Vencedor is not much of a wreck - a tuna boat's broken remains settling into the sand inside Cabo Pulmo National Park - but it hosts one of the most reliable bull shark encounters in the Americas. The structure functions as a landmark and gathering point: divers settle low on the sand nearby, keep their hands folded, and watch heavy-bodied bull sharks make unhurried circuits through the visiting snapper and jack schools, typically in the cooler months. Park guides run the encounter with strict etiquette, no bait involved. Between shark passes, the debris itself shelters porcupinefish, morays, and juvenile everything - a nursery with formidable visitors.

The moment you come for: Unbaited bull sharks at recreational depth, guided etiquette that works, snapper clouds over the debris

Topography: Scattered remains of a small fishing vessel on sand within the park

Know before you splash

Hazards: Large predators at close range - follow guide protocol exactly; modest depth makes overstays easy.

Conservation: Within Cabo Pulmo National Park; encounters are managed, unbaited, and subject to the park's group limits.
