The Similans' granite reaches its full expression here: boulders the size of houses lean into a three-dimensional maze of tunnels, arches, and shafts where sunlight drops in blades and exhaled bubbles crawl the ceilings like mercury. Navigating the swim-throughs is the dive, with white-eyed morays and painted lobster in the seams, whitetip reef sharks resting in the sand rooms, and jacks patrolling wherever the current compresses. Surge breathes through the passages even on fair days, so timing and spacing matter. Between the rocks, gorgonian stands and bannerfish soften all that geology.
