Stromingen en zicht veranderen dagelijks, dus beschouw alles hier als planningsranges.
CJ's Drop Off is the north shore doing its best impression of a big-island wall. The reef flat runs shallow and bright, then simply ends: a clean edge fissured with chimneys you can descend inside, popping out of the rock face over deep blue. Sponges and wire corals take over below fifteen meters, hawksbills work the crevice gardens, and the open water off the wall is prime real estate during whale-shark season, when captains watch for boils on the run out and back. Swell permitting, it is the fun-dive Utila regulars request by name.

Topografie: Utila's north-shore shelf ends abruptly in a wall seamed with vertical cracks and chimneys dropping past recreational depth.
Stroming: Usually easy; the north coast takes swell more than current.
Instap: North-side site near the island's west end; dived on calm days, often paired with whale-shark searching.

Gevaren: Swell and surge on the shallow shelf; depth discipline inside the chimneys.
Behoud: North-side sites see fewer boats; keep it that pristine by staying off the wall face.
Nitrox: Hier de moeite waard: profielen liggen in het bereik waar nitrox de no-stop-tijd zinvol verlengt (met de juiste training om het te gebruiken).
