Green turtles rest on the sand between them or drift up to breathe unbothered by their audience; blue-spotted ribbontail rays shuffle under ledges; garden-variety reef fish — sweetlips, snapper, batfish squadrons — gather in the lee of every head. The pace suits beginners, long shallow profiles, and photographers working turtle portraits with the sand as a reflector. On spring low tides the top of the slope doubles as one of the area's best snorkels.
