Twin Rocks is the proof of what a small, well-guarded sanctuary can do. Two boulder heads a short swim apart rise from 15 m of sand, packed so densely with life that new divers assume it is normal: carpets of anemones boiling with clownfish, jacks and snapper in rotating schools, batfish escorts, giant clams settled between coral heads, and green turtles that graze through unbothered. Fish feeding was stamped out years ago, yet the residents never lost their boldness. It works equally as a first sanctuary dive, a relaxed afternoon, or a slow macro lap for photographers.
O momento pelo qual você vem: Anemone cities, confiding schools, turtles at sanctuary ease
Topografia: Two coral-crowned boulders on a sandy slope
Corrente: Occasionally a light current along the slope; easily managed.
Entrada: Buoyed sanctuary a few minutes by banca from most resorts; no anchoring inside.
Sabe antes de entrar na água
Perigos: Weekend diver traffic; titan triggerfish territory in nesting season.
Conservação: A municipal marine sanctuary with per-dive fees; the density of life here depends on everyone keeping hands off.
