Nothing else in the Philippines dives like Barracuda Lake. Enclosed by Coron Island's karst blades, the lake stacks fresh water over salt, and at about 14 m divers push through a shimmering thermocline into water near 38 °C, hot-bath hot, before it cools again below. The walls are sculpted stone, the silt floor swallows fins whole, and shrimp swarm divers' hands at the margins. A solitary barracuda, the namesake, patrols somewhere in the haze and finds you as often as you find it. Fish life is sparse; sensation is the entire point, and it is worth the gear haul over the rocks.

지형: Limestone walls, silt cones, and sculpted rock in a brackish crater-like lake
진입: Boats moor at Coron Island's cliffs; divers carry gear up and over a short limestone stair to the lake.
