Siete Pecados, a cluster of seven islets guarding the channel near Coron town, is the local proof that protection pays. Its shallow gardens hold some of the healthiest nearshore coral in the area, dense fields of branching and table species busy with damselfish, wrasse, parrotfish, and juvenile everything, plus giant clams parked like anvils and turtles drifting through the seagrass margins. For divers it works as a warm-up, a shallow second dive after the deep fleet, or a long unhurried macro potter; for snorkelers it is the main event. Wardens patrol, fees are collected, and the reef visibly repays both.
