Five Mile trades Two Mile's bustle for fragile architecture. Its flat top carries some of the park's most delicate coral — overlapping plate formations and mushroom-shaped heads that would not survive a busier mooring — and the fish community shifts subtly with it: butterflyfish pairs working the plates, wrasse territories, octopus dens in the interstices, nudibranchs on the turf. Rays pass along the sand aprons and turtles are regulars. Operators visit when the sea allows the longer run, which keeps traffic light; divers who value coral itself over marquee animals often rank it Sodwana's finest hour.
